Margaret (Margie) Jordan

Margie Jordan is a Licensed Advanced Cosmetologist based in Columbus, Ohio. Her career began at the age of seven when she was influenced and taught the basics of hair by her late maternal Grandmother, Mildred Louise Holliday. Her Grandma would let her practice different styles in her hair, and sometimes she would use dolls. Humorously, she would hate when others came to put their hands in her grandma’s hair after she just styled it. Her Grandma’s favorite line when it came to the dolls was “Make sure you don’t cut their hair because their hair won’t grow back!”...lol. Margie was developing not only a talent, but a passion for the beauty industry at that tender age of seven years old....

 

By the time Margie got to high school, she had been doing hair for homecomings, proms, picture days and football games. She had even started to do her own hair at that point. She knew at this point it was going to be her career. She loved everything that had to do with beauty. Hair, makeup, you name it. In her senior year of high school, one day after school, her mother spoke to her and said “Rita (a nickname her mom always called her, short for “Margarita”), is this really what you want to do?”. Margie said “yes mom it really is; I really love it”. Her mother had saw so many friends from school come over and leave with their hair done, she couldn’t resist but to ask. Next thing you know, she applied for a scholarship for beauty school and got it. She began beauty school straight out of high school at 18 years old.

 

Margie’s dream had always been to be an entrepreneur and own her own beauty business. She knew there were levels to that until she could get there, but she was determined. She went full time to beauty school and was able to graduate a year and four months later at 19 years old. She got her beautician license a few months later and worked in a chain salon for almost two years. It wasn’t her favorite thing to do, but she got the experience of it. Later in 2014, she began to follow her dreams of being her actual own boss. She found her business name LadiWithBeauty since she believed that every woman has beauty about her. She found her slogan with her diva personality that says “Embracing your inner Diva”, which means that every woman has a little “diva” in her and its ok to embrace it. After all of this, she began to build her own brand. She began to be a traveling hairstylist for about two years before finding a suite and building inside of there.

 

Today, Margie has her own beauty business in a suite in Upper Arlington, Ohio with her Grandmother’s picture right on the top shelf. She specializes in all hair types, the health of the hair, lash extensions, hair extensions, makeup and facial waxes. She has her own lipgloss line that she plans to turn into a full makeup line, and also her own haircare oils and conditioner line as well.  A very versatile beautician.

 

Margie’s words, “I'm just so happy that God placed this beautiful passion in my hands and had my Grandma right there to help me find my passion and my career when I was only seven years old. I was completely unaware that I was setting up my future. Now I get to live my life building a brand in her honor doing something I love to do!”.
